Our interior design trend predictions for 2024

As 2023 draws to a close, we’ve been looking into what we might be seeing in the new year in the world of interior design. We’re constantly seeing new products on the market and we can’t wait to incorporate some of these into our own designs. Take a look at some of the incredible trends we hope to see…

Curvilinear Furniture

We’ve already started to see a lot of curvilinear furniture appear in interiors and many of our suppliers are offering pieces like this. Using these pieces gives the space a gorgeous soft and contemporary feel, creating a flow that more angular pieces would not. This style of furniture is also extremely versatile and great for awkward spaces as many of these pieces look great placed in any corner of the room. If you would like to add something extra to complete the look, you could always use a curved rug or piece of artwork to mirror the shapes and flow created by the furniture throughout the space.

Chunky Furniture and Colourful Accents

We just love these unique pieces we are seeing in some of the design houses we work with. From furniture to accessories, many designs are being made playful by introducing these unusual shapes and forms throughout. Similar to the curvilinear style, the curved edges on these pieces give the space a softer feel, perfect for somewhere like a formal lounge, drawing room or bedroom where you should be able to relax and unwind. We, of course, love to add an accent colour to give the design that extra pop of fun like this beautiful rose shade we’ve used.

Rich and Dark Materials

We have already introduced these gorgeous rich and dark finishes into a few of our designs here at Corrinne Muir Interiors, but it’s certainly something we’re hoping to see a lot more of in 2024. Using these dark materials can add a level of sophistication to a space and it can be done in a variety of ways. We just love the luxurious feel these tones create in a design, it’s one of the best ways to give your room that expensive designer look.

If you are hoping to give your home a re-vamp in 2024, we offer a variety of services to help you do so. From styling packages to full designs, we can do as much or as little as you would like.
